A Study in Suburban Perfection

When green grass beneath bright pink shoes
met broad shady lines of rugged trees
met the swings of the children glinting in the sun,
it was suburban perfection on a summer noon.
I was a little chilly on that empty park bench
observing three milling pigeons,
the football kids,
the buggies and picnics,
but it felt like suburban perfection all the same.
